Everything has a beginning and an end!

In 1881, the Sociedade da Saboaria do Bolhão LDA was created, on Rua do Bolhão, specializing in the production of Offenbach Soap. Soap that has become a symbol over several generations.

Offenbach Soap, better known as Blue and White soap (or Pink and White), and sometimes as Monkey soap, is a soap that was widely used in Portugal and still widely used in Africa, where a good part of the production was exported.

In addition to the Offenbach soap, Saboaria was active in the production of detergents and glycerin.

In the seventies of the twentieth century, Offenbach soap production started to take place in new facilities in the Industrial Zone of Porto, Rua Manuel Pinto de Azevedo.

For reasons that we could not ascertain, in addition to the creation of companies producing this type of soap in Africa, the sales of Saboaria do Bolhão started to decrease sharply. According to a source from "Dinheiro Vivo", sales in 2018 fell 42.30% and in 2019, 56.45%, the year in which the Sociedade Saboaria do Bolhão LDA took the decision to end the production of the Soap Offenbach.

In 2020 Saboaria do Bolhão takes the decision to sell its facilities in the industrial area of ​​Porto.

It is because of this decision that made it possible to hold a photo session, at the premises of Saboaria do Bolhão, for real estate promotion of this space.
